The Megan House Foundation (Megan's House)
UMass Memorial Health- Addiction Immediate Care (Opioid Treatment Program)
The Addiction Immediate Care (AIC) program is located at 340 Thompson Rd in Webster. We are an urgent care for addiction and dual diagnosis treatment and are a licensed Opioid Treatment Program. Initially, students will shadow clinicians to learn about the treatment provided and, once they are confident and comfortable, students will begin to meet with patients independently, completing intakes, individual sessions, running groups, etc. During the internship students will learn about different forms of medication for opioid use disorders and other medication assisted treatments in addition to psychiatric medications. The majority of patients have a dually diagnosed mental health disorder. Students will learn about the levels of care and treatment options at UMass Harrington and will have the opportunity to shadow in those levels of care. Students should reach out via email to the UMass Harrington contact person (Christina Beesley) who will schedule an interview to discuss internship opportunities, student interest, and requirements of the school. Onboarding takes about 4 weeks so please plan ahead.
