Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Supervisor to support the Program Director in overseeing all clinical aspects of a residential Substance Use Disorder program. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, evidence-based substance use counseling services, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supervising clinical staff in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Our residential program provides structured, individualized clinical support for up to six months. During this time, patients receive the tools and guidance needed to secure employment, rebuild family and community connections, and pursue long-term recovery goals. Upon successful completion, patients transition into stable, sober living environments where they can continue to thrive as productive members of their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and coordination of all clinical services to ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care
  • Supervise and support clinical and educational staff, including performance evaluations and professional development
  • Ensure compliance with all Department of Public Health (DPH)/BSAS regulations and contractual obligations
  • Develop, implement, and review clinical policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions with clients, staff, and external partners
  • Plan, coordinate, and document staff training and development activities
  • Assist with hiring and ensure appropriate clinical staffing levels
  • Facilitate weekly case conferences, staff meetings, and administrative reporting
  • Act as liaison with courts, agencies, and external stakeholders regarding clinical matters
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and recordkeeping
  • Provide direct client care and facilitate educational groups as needed
  • Oversee medication procedures and client disciplinary processes
  • Participate in grant writing and fundraising efforts
  • Fulfill on-call responsibilities as assigned
  • Promote adherence to best practices, ethical standards, and program policies
  • Attend required trainings and contribute to overall program operations

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field (required)
  • Independent licensure eligibility required (e.g., LADC I, LMHC, LICSW); full licensure preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of licensed clinical supervisory experience (required)
  • Minimum of 2 years of substance use counseling experience (required)
  • Strong knowledge of substance use disorders and treatment approaches
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts DPH/BSAS regulations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers, databases, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Satisfactory CORI/SORI at all times while employed with MHSA
  • TB Test Result Report to be submitted within ninety (90) days of hire
  • Fully authorized to work in the United States at all times while employed by MHSA
