This training explores key developmental risk and protective factors that influence youth mental health, substance use, and overall well-being. Participants will examine the long-term impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the buffering role of positive childhood experiences (PCEs), and the application of trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate screening tools. The session also highlights evidence-based strategies and public health frameworks that support early intervention, resilience-building, and prevention of youth suicide and substance use at the clinical, community, and policy levels.
