This highly dynamic training teaches active bystander intervention skills for recognizing and responding to harmful behaviors that may occur in a range of workplace and community settings. Activities include assessment exercises, role plays and common scenarios using Human In Common’s communication templates. Participants will have opportunities to address various forms of harassment, including racism, anti-immigrant, sexual harassment, anti-LGBTQ, and targeting of people with disabilities.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
● Identify a minimum of 2 inhibitors and promoters of active bystander intervention
● Identify a minimum of 6 commonly targeted social identity groups
● Provide a minimum of 2 points of analysis to explain why a scenario involving harassment is harmful
● Detail a minimum of 3 considerations when assessing risk
● Demonstrate a minimum of 3 strategies to effectively interrupt harassment
● Identify at least 3 statements to communicate with someone who is engaging in harmful behavior
● Demonstrate at least 3 strategies to engage in allyship and partnership with those who’ve been targeted
