Research shows that many people living with substance use disorders (SUDs) and their families. have also been impacted by problem gambling. For some, gambling and using substances went hand in hand, while others developed the problem well into their recovery processes.
This interactive panel will feature individuals in recovery from SUDs and problem gambling (PG) and highlight their lived experiences, recovery capital, strengths, resiliency, and recommendations. To this end, participants will learn specific strategies and techniques for mitigating harm and preventing PG amongst people with SUDs and other mental health challenges (e.g. examples – ADHD, trauma, depression, etc.).
This panel is facilitated by our center, the Massachusetts Center of Excellence on Problem Gambling Prevention (MCOE PGP), funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Office of Problem Gambling Services. If you have any questions about this panel, please contact us.
