Caregiver involvement is associated with improved outcomes in adolescent substance use treatment. This training will review the rationale and empirical evidence for including caregivers in adolescent substance use treatment. Further, core elements of evidence-informed practices to involve caregivers in treatment will be reviewed. Using an applied case example, concrete skills in measuring family dynamics and structuring family conversations will be taught.
