Speakers

Heidi Ginter, MD, FASAM

Dr. Heidi Ginter is a board-certified Family Medicine physician, Addiction Medicine specialist, and passionate advocate for methadone and other evidence-based medications for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). Her commitment to treating substance use disorders began nearly two decades ago while providing prenatal care to incarcerated pregnant patients. Today, she is honored to support people in reaching their recovery goals at every stage of life and level of care. As a physician leader, Dr. Ginter leverages her position to help shape policies and treatment guidelines that emphasize evidence, patient-centered care, and individualized experiences. Beyond her professional work, she is a proud mother—her middle daughter is starting college this fall. Dr. Ginter earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency at the Hahnemann Family Health Center at the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine, where she now serves as an Assistant Professor.
