Full job description
Adult & Teen Challenge New England and New Jersey is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Master’s Level Clinician to join our Clinical Stabilization Services (CSS) team. This role provides trauma-informed, client-centered care to adult men in early recovery from substance use disorder. The clinician is responsible for conducting assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and ensuring that care reflects evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients to determine the severity of substance use issues and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate clinical best practices.
- Facilitate up to five 30-minute individual counseling sessions and 1 daily group session
- Provide education to clients and families on addiction and coping strategies
Ongoing Support & Documentation
- Monitor and document client progress; adjust treatment plans as needed to reflect evolving needs and spiritual growth
- Maintain timely and accurate records in KIPU EMR in accordance with BSAS and facility requirements
- Participate in clinical supervision, staff check-ins, and multidisciplinary case reviews
- Make collateral calls and referrals to support coordinated care
Professional Development & Collaboration
- Stay informed of emerging best practices in behavioral health and addiction treatment
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Active LICSW, LMHC, or LADC I (or license-eligible in Massachusetts)
- Certification in substance use counseling (e.g., CADC, CAC) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a behavioral health or substance use treatment setting
- Understanding of substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and trauma-informed care
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and respectful treatment
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse client population
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems; KIPU experience a plus
- Bilingual in Spanish, Haitian-Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole a plus
