Event description
Sponsored by BSAS
No

This training counts toward the MA PGS Certificate Clinical Core Competency Coursework

When we recognize that recovery looks different for every person, we can better advise our clients. This training will introduce various forms of recovery, from medication to 12-step programs to cognitive based therapies. Participants will also explore stigma around recovery and how best to support our clients.

Learning Objectives

Participants will be able to:

    • Define recovery
    • Name 2-3 different pathways of recovery
    • Explore the 10 different principles of recovery as defined by SAMHSA
    • Discuss impacts of intersectionality (race, class, gender, etc.) on people’s ability/capacity to access recovery resources
    • Challenge personal biases/stigma towards certain recovery pathways

3 CEUs for the following program are available through this course:

Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors

  • MA Technical Assistance Center for Problem Gambling Treatment is authorized by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to sponsor, conduct or approve continuing education programs for alcohol and drug counselors/assistants (LADCs).

TRAINING CANCELLATION POLICY: Each Exploring Pathways to Recovery training requires a minimum of 10 participants. Trainings with fewer than 10 participants will be canceled, given the challenges that arise with facilitating an interactive 3-hour training with less than 10 active participants. Registrants will be notified of any training cancellations by email and will be referred to additional resources and upcoming trainings.
