Every year, The World Health Organization designates May 31st as World No Tobacco Day and this year’s theme is “Tobacco: Threat to Our Environment.” The production of commercial tobacco products has a significant impact on the environment, from the cultivation of the tobacco plant to the litter of cigarette butts and electronic devices. At every step in the production cycle, we see a negative impact on climate change, intertwined with health and human rights concerns.
